As a platform engineering leader, this shift has honestly been much easier for me than I expected.

I never stopped coding day to day, but AI makes me feel like I am getting more done than I was before. I was already delegating and solving for outcomes instead of output.

In practice, moving from writing a story clearly enough for an engineer to pick it up to writing a prompt clearly enough for AI to execute is the same skill. The big difference is cycle time: I do not have to wait as long for the work to move from backlog to implementation.
